Families are resilient and resourceful. But our economy is putting further pressure on them to do more with less. No one should have to choose between their child’s school supplies and paying a utility bill.
Each year, more than 200,000 students in the Greater Twin Cities return to school without the essential school supplies like notebooks, pencils, pens and calculators. Without these basic tools, it is harder for students to fully participate in the classroom and stay engaged in learning.
Action Day, presented by Target, is a community-wide effort to change that. Volunteers and donors come together to provide backpacks filled with school supplies so students can start the year prepared. Because school supplies are the foundation of successful learning, belonging and classroom confidence.
Create your own volunteer experience at home with friends, family or neighbors. Purchase, assemble and donate school supply packs filled with markers, scissors, pencils and more.
Thanks to a generous $25,000 match from Comcast, you can double your donation. Just $20 helps two students go back to school with a backpack and the supplies they need to participate fully and confidently in their learning.
Take action and make a difference!
