No matter where we live, when we taste the flavors of our community, we are home.

Our Community is Home to Many Cultures

It is crucial that our neighbors facing hunger have access to foods, flavors and spices that are familiar and important to their culture. Access to food is an essential ingredient for building inclusion and creating a community where everyone can thrive.

In partnership with nonprofits across the Twin Cities, we’ve developed 11 cultural food packs containing a variety of pantry staples and spices — like beans, noodles, sauces, and baking supplies — that when supplemented with fresh items, create nutritious and familiar meals.

Hundreds of volunteers came together to purchase, assemble and donate culturally specific food packs to ensure neighbors experiencing food insecurity have access to foods, flavors and spices that are significant to their culture.

Get Involved Year-Round

While our 2024 Flavors of Our Community collection has ended for the year, you can still get involved! Here’s how you can donate food packs to local food shelves:

Choose which Flavors of Our Community food pack(s) you will assemble.
Purchase all items for your selected packs.
Assemble the pack(s) by placing all items into the type of bag listed within the supply list.
Email VolunteerUnited@gtcuw.org to coordinate a drop-off at a local nonprofit partner.
