CHILD CARE WORKER GRANT

In 2025, the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) awarded a Child Care Worker Grant to Greater Twin Cities United Way to support members of the early childhood workforce with the cost of child care for their own children. Eligible participants may receive up to $5,000 in one year with funds distributed on a quarterly basis. Eligible individuals will be awarded based on a first come, first served basis, starting with the Early Learning Scholarship (ELS) waitlist. Applicants are required to have completed an ELS Application. If not already on the ELS waitlist, please click here to fill out ELS scholarship application.

ELIGIBILITY:

Income eligible for MN Early Learning Scholarship
Not receiving an Early Learning Scholarship or assistance through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
Working at least 32 hours per week providing direct care for children in a licensed child care centered, certified child care center, or licensed family child care setting
Has child care costs for their own child equal to or more than $1,250 every three months

*You may still be eligible even if you recieve childcare as an employee benefit

APPLICATion process

Application Process:

Submit the application.
After your application has been submitted, review your email from CCWGrant@gtcuw.org.
Submit your employment and child care cost verification as instructed in the email.
Wait for email confirmation about the status of your award.

After You Have Been Awarded:

Submit additional documentation as requested by email.
Your first payment will be processed after documentation has been verified.
You will receive email requests for verification every three months in order to continue receiving payment for the one-year grant term.
