Greater Twin Cities United Way has announced its United for Good Award winners. These awards recognize United Way corporate partners for leading with excellence in their 2017 campaigns.
Partner of the Year
Partner of the Year awards honor United Way corporate partners who made a difference and an impact in the greater Twin Cities community in 2017 through innovative and successful campaign strategies.
Partner of the Year – Large Company
Finalists: H.B. Fuller, Target, The Toro Company
And the winner is…
The Toro Company demonstrates a company-wide commitment to giving back. The company has invested over $5.9 million over the past five years in United Way projects and initiatives, with employees logging over 600 hours of volunteering!
Partner of the Year – Medium Company
Finalists: DecoPac, Inc., Enterprise, EY
And the winner is…
Thanks in large part to the company’s leadership, DecoPac, Inc. has seen their campaign giving and participation increase steadily for the past five years! In 2017, their pledge total increased by 4.3% and resulted in over 1,020 volunteer hours.
Partner of the Year – Small Company
Finalists: Burns and McDonnell, Venture Bank, Wipfli
And the winner is…
A committed corporate Ambassador and dedicated campaign committee helped the Wipfli campaign increase 26% in 2017, including an auction that led to 4 times that amount of special event funds raised!
Video of the Year
Video of the Year honors a United Way corporate partner for the creative development of a video that supports their campaign fundraising efforts.
Finalists: CenterPoint, Land O’Lakes, Polaris
And the winner is…
In 2017, Land O’Lakes saw it’s campaign increase for the 11th consecutive year! The video focused on showing the importance of standing up for others and being a support to those in need, helping them to walk/run on their own.
Stan Kowalski Lifetime Achievement Award
This year, United Way is also recognizing recent Toro retiree, Don Trevarthen, with this award honoring an individual for long-time dedication to volunteerism and making an impact in our local community.
Throughout his career, Don always made time to share his time, leadership and expertise with United Way. With Don’s help, Toro exceeded $1 million raised in 2011, increased their campaign by almost 14% and achieved their three-year strategic goal in one year!
