This annual community-wide volunteer event brings people together to pack backpacks for local kids in need. In addition to generous sponsorship, the organization also had strong volunteerism at the event. As part of a unique, co-created opportunity, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux distributed backpacks to several school districts offering Native American programming, including Anoka Hennepin, Bloomington, Inver Grove Heights, Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Shakopee, South Saint Paul, and South Washington County.”
