Cody Flaherty
Donor Advisor
Inspiration: “You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.” — Angela Davis
What working in this community means to me: “Working in this community means listening to our community partners and neighbors to follow the lead of folks who are on the front lines.”
Cody is a values-driven fundraiser who brings her passion for building relationships to her role as a donor advisor. She is excited and energized by the opportunity to build a new program in mid-level gifts.
Prior to Greater Twin Cities United Way, Cody was a grassroots organizer and fundraiser for political candidates and local nonprofits, such as NARAL Pro-Choice Minnesota and Mayor Melvin Carter, as well as serving as the fundraising director for Representative Ilhan Omar’s 2019 congressional campaign. Cody received her bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and English from St. Catherine University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
In her spare time, Cody is a foster through Secondhand Hounds, community doula, writing tutor and board member at Our Justice. She finds joy by spoiling her old man cat, dancing with friends, making mediocre art, and surrounding herself with community and good music.
