Shelly Lucas Director, Institutional Giving

Shelly has been with Greater Twin Cities United Way since 2018, where she leads fundraising from foundation and government institutions. Through a close partnership with community impact, Shelly aligns donor interest with innovative solutions to address community needs.
Prior to joining United Way, Shelly spent several years in corporate philanthropy serving in a variety of grantmaking and community relations roles for Target, UnitedHealth Group, and St. Jude Medical (now Abbott.) Shelly received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and has a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota.
Shelly has served on the board of directors for Angel Foundation, a local nonprofit that provides support to adults with cancer, and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health alumni society board. She lives in Apple Valley with her husband, Matt, and baby girl, Madison. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exercising, spending time with friends and family, reading, attending local cultural and sporting events, and trying new restaurants.
