Frank Mumford Senior Donor Advisor
Inspiration: “It is easier to build strong children than repair broken men.” — Frederick Douglas
What working in this community means to me: “It means being civically engaged and lending a hand to a neighbor in need. I always stop to help push someone if their car is stuck in the snow or to hand a bottle of water to someone on the corner. Being part of the community means taking care of each other.”
Frank has the amazing opportunity to connect donors with what they make possible for our community. Through understanding each persons philanthropic goals and passions, he works to bring them closer to the work and share the impact.
Prior to joining the team at United Way, Frank worked as the donor relations director at The Salvation Army Northern Division and an associate development officer at University of Minnesota. He holds two bachelor’s degrees in entrepreneurship and economics from Northern Michigan University, where he got his start in nonprofit work as a student telethon fundraiser. Frank has more than 13 years of fundraising, sales, and marketing experience across the higher education and social service sectors.
Frank is a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Minnesota chapter and the Northern Michigan University alumni association. He lives in Saint Paul with his wife, Emily, and their two young children, Arthur and Cecily. The family enjoys camping and traveling.
