Goal: Reduce Domestic Violence

  • In the state of Minnesota, 201,814 adults reported experiencing domestic violence in 2010.1
  • 1 in 4 Minnesota women have experienced domestic violence in their lifetime, yet one-third of victims reported taking no action in response.2
  • Nearly 10 percent of children have witnessed a family assault in the past year.2

Our Response

United Way and our partners are working on innovative solutions including perpetrator programming and preventive education that is culturally sensitive. We are also building awareness of domestic violence and its impact, such as our funding of the TPT documentary, With Impunity.

Our Results

Goal: Provide safety services to 60,000 people resolving domestic violence.

Result: More than 69,910 adults and children received safety services while resolving domestic violence issues.
