Volunteer At Home and help us meet our goal of sending 50,000 students back to school with essential school supplies! Create your own volunteer experience with family and friends by following these easy steps:
Sign up and determine the quantity and type of School Supply Packs you’d like to assemble- Elementary, Middle/High School or both!
Purchase listed items and assemble each School Supply Pack by placing all supplies into a 2-gallon Ziploc bag, label each pack with type (Elementary or Middle/High School). View School Supply Pack Lists for full list of supplies.
Drop-off your completed School Supply Packs at a designated location– don’t forget to sign up to let us know where you plan to drop-off! Note, Purchasing the backpack is optional. United Way will provide a backpack for your completed School Supply Packs.
In addition to making school supply packs, volunteers can write encouraging notes for students. You can make your own cards or download our template. Completed cards will be placed in backpacks during Action Day. View this document for card making directions.
Make sure you share with us photos and videos of your Volunteering At Home experience! If you send photos and/or videos along with a quote to VolunteerUnited@gtcuw.org you will receive a free Action Day T-shirt.
For every School Supply Pack you commit to assembling, you will receive one (1) entry (up to 30 entries) in our sweepstakes to win exciting prizes!
