Organized Labor & Union Partners

Labor members contribute time, skills and money to help United Way make our community better for everyone.

Labor Partners Help our Community

Since 2015, more than 3,100 labor volunteers have contributed 6,418 hours to our community through Volunteer United!

And unions are unique in that they can offer specialized, trade-specific skills to community partners. This year, Job Corps student from the International Union Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT District 82), painted the exterior of the East Side Neighborhood Services Food Warehouse, under the instruction of union member, John Kaiser.

United Way Supports Union Members

United Way also provides funding to the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation (RLF) Working Partnerships, St. Paul Regional Labor Federation (RLF) Labor Studies and Resource Center, and Minnesota Teamsters Service Bureau. These programs provide direct support and community services to nearly 13,000 union members.
