My name is Kristen Fogerty and I am a United Way 2-1-1™ Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) at Ceridian. I assist in development and maintenance functions for the 2-1-1 database in conjunction with the statewide 2-1-1 system. I also attend and represent 2-1-1 at external meetings, and provide presentations about 2-1-1 to agency staff and community groups.

Since part of our website provides features specifically geared towards professionals, we decided to look into providing training for professionals. Invitations were sent out to United Way funded agencies, professionals who have registered on our site, 2-1-1 newsletter recipients and other contacts. We were pleased with the response!

On Thursday, August 23, United Way 2-1-1 provided its first in-person training for professionals on how to use our website at Greater Twin Cities United Way. Ceridian, United Way and page10 all worked together to build our website. Deb Notermann, senior vice president of page10, and I provided a presentation for over 40 professionals. We also provided handouts so professionals had directions for how to use our website if they needed them after participating in the training.

The attendees provided us with thought-provoking questions to answer as well as great ideas for future functionality for the website. The group seemed very interested in it and pleased with its functionality. One attendee commented to me afterwards about how much she enjoys using the website, and that she uses it every day to help her clients!

Several attendees expressed interest in scheduling future trainings for their staff at their agencies.  2-1-1 staff members are available to provide trainings in person to agency staff. If you’d like to schedule a training, feel free to comment below or contact us via one of the following methods:
